2 Ports Get Stuck And Never Get Released After Hangup

Hello support team,

 

The Voiceguide Status Monitor on this server showed that two lines out of 12 ports got stuck on "Ring #..." and never hung up (Please see the screen shot included in attachment).

I tested to call in and found out it seemed that this problem only happens on Port #11 and #12: other ports recognize hang-up signals correctly and go to stand-by mode once calls are disconnected.

 

I include the log files along with Config files.

 

Please let me know what the problem is.

 

The Telephony card this server is using is "D/120JCT-LS-Rev2"

To see what happened we would need to see the vgEngine and ktTel traces that covers these times:

The End of call detection has already been configured for this telephony board (you guys helped me verify too), and I believe that is not the cause of the problem because this only happens on Port #11 and 12.

 

I have added ktTel logs for the days as you requested.

Please let me know your findings.

We would need to see the vgEngine traces as well. Please .ZIP up and post vgEngine traces that cover the times we mentioned.

Looks like the situation was caused by the "After Hangup" script not completing. The problem was with the script VBScript launched by the [ProcessFinishUpHiring] module.

 

Calls were arriving on line but were not answered as the previous calls "After Hangup" script was still running.

 

You would need to track down what was the problem in the VBScript that was stopping it from completing promptly.

 

Please ensure that if running a VBScript in the the "After Hangup" script, the VoiceGuide module is not set to wait for VBScript to complete.

 

"After Hangup" scripts should be designed to complete promptly - you should really aim to get these 'after hangup' scripts to complete before further calls arrive on that line.

You can launch your own tasks from "After Hangup" scripts which can run for however loing you choose - bu the actual Voiceguide "After Hangup" scripts should be designed to complete promptly.

 

We will also release a new version of VG which handles this case better.

I have applied the patch to the server. Thank you. I will let you know if there is a further issue.

 

Please ensure that if running a VBScript in the the "After Hangup" script, the VoiceGuide module is not set to wait for VBScript to complete.

 

I do not know how to make "Post Hangup" script not to wait for VBScript to complete.

The screen (below) does not have that option. Am I missing something?

Oh, I thought I had to set that on the Property screen.

 

I did change the option for the VB Script to "Do not wait..."
