Inbound Fax

Hi

just reading re V 7 and it would seem Faxing is now better supported - I remember asking a few years ago about this and don't think it was then.

 

Can a Fax and call both come in on SAME line - and if so how and where is it determined so you can trigger different paths?

 

or do you need explicitly different inbound lines - and then have a record module - the one associated to the Fax line - always record to a pdf for example...and use from there..

Fax and Voice calls can arrive on the same line.

 

Many faxes send a "fax calling tone" which VoiceGuide detects and then takes the "on {fax}" path if that path is defined.

 

You can use the "on {fax}" path to go to a record module which is set up to receive a fax.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question - But I dont see the "On fax" in any of the ON choices in any of the modules

The "on {fax}" path needs to be types in by hand.

 

on {fax} goto [somemodulename]
