Where Is The Volume Control?

Recommended Posts

They sound too loud over the phone line or too loud over the PC speakers?

Please .ZIP up and post one of the .WAV files here.

I am referring to the sound files that are used in the sample scripts. Everything is distorted because it is playing too loudly over the phone.

Many voice modems will distort the played sound files.

You could try editing the sound files to make their volume lower, but in general you will never get professional results with a voice modem.

The modem has a voice mailbox application that was on the installation disc. The quality of the sound in that application is very good so the modem is obviously capable of producing quality sound.

Why doesn't VoiceGuide have some type of volume control?

It's highly likely that the application which came with the modem is not using the Wave drivers to play the sound files.

You may want to have a look at the v2.9 of VoiceGuide which is still available for download from a http://www.voiceguide.com/vgDownload.htm - see at the very bottom of the downloads page.

There is no volume control as when it comes to volume levels the only complaints from customers usually are that voice modems play sound files too low, so there was never any demand for a volume control.
