Text To Speech (TTS) Engines
Microsoft's SAPI 5 or later is required by the VoiceGuide Text to Speech modules.
Windows Vista/7 include SAPI by default. For previous versions of Windows, SAPI needs to be installed separately:

Microsoft includes a few free TTS voices with SAPI. Better quality TTS engines can be obtained separately from:

Applications designed to read very long TTS streams (over 5 minutes) would benefit from using TTS engines designed for this purpose, like Nuance Realspeak Telecom. Please contact sales@voiceguide.com if such a solution is required.

Speech Recognition Engines
Any MRCPv2 compliant Speech Recognition engine can be used with VoiceGuide. LumenVox and Nuance are two prominent ASR engine suppliers.
