Creative Modem Blaster Serial

Recommended Posts

Just purchased a Creative Serial Modemblaster to test the software with. Says the wave drivers are not installed. Can someone please advise how to do this? The Creative installation didn't say anything about wavedrivers AND the "answering machine" software that came with the modem works fine (answered a call, played a voicemail message and recorded my message).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Would like to eventually move over to dialogic if this works but can't afford that at this time.

In Control Panel -> Sound and Multimedia applet do you see the modem's wave drivers installed?

Under Hardware there is a Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device.

Under "Audio" and "Voice" do I need to select the modem and then reset?

Thanks for your help.

That should not matter...

Could you please post a copy of VoiceGuide's Debug Printout which captures the problem, this will allow us to see what is going wrong.

Click on VoiceGuide's View menu and select 'Event Trace Log' option and tick the "Save to file" option.

Then restart VoiceGuide.

Log files should be created in VG's \log\ subdirectory.

Please email us those log files and we can then maybe see what the problem is...

Traces confirm that when the modem's TAPI driver is asked to provide information about the Wave driver that should be used for this modem then the modem's TAPI driver responds that there is Wave driver associated with the modem.

It does look like the TAPI/Wave drivers for this modem are not properly or fully installed.

You may want to try using the old version of VoiceGuide which does not use the TAPI/Wave drivers but controls the modem directly (like some of the other older style applications out there). See the bottom of this page: http://www.voiceguide.com/vgDownload.htm
