Voicemail - Default Messages

Recommended Posts

Hi Support,

I am using VG for Dialogic (Version 6.0.3335) Enterprise Edition.

Ran into an issue on the Voice Mail application where after leaving a message the system plays RecMsgMenu.wav from the VG default audio directory.

This wav file reads as:

"Please press '1' to replay the message, '2' to delete the message and record again, or '3' to save this message and go back to the voicemail box menu"

Pressing 3 enables the "Save Message & Record Another" command, which is in line with the VoiceGuide Voicemail System Menu Tree found here: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/Voicemail%20Menus.pdf

In my opinion, the current recording of RecMsgMenu is misleading. Is there an updated wav file for RecMsgMenu that presents all options available to the caller?

There is no other RecMsgMenu.wav file which says the other options.

The current RecMsgMenu.wav file should really be saying "or '3' to save this message and go back to this voicemail box's welcome message" and possibly "or just hangup to save your message" or "press 0 to save your message".

Currently option "0" will save the recorded message and then take you to the module specified as the "Return" module when the call into Voicemail subsystem was made.

Note that you can change all these options at will by editing the Voicemail scripts themselves - you can have a "3" keypress result in the same action as if the "0" was pressed... just change the "3" and the "0" around in the Voicemail script...

Another thing you could do is to edit the RecMsgMenu.wav file replacing "3" with a "0". Hopefully some system file has "0" recorded as part of the file (?).

Many ways to approach this one, thanks to the flexibility you get by having the entire voicemail system open to your edits as VoiceGuide scripts...
