Detecting Busy Line

Recommended Posts

I have 8 lines for my VG and I have a dialogic card. I have configured 6 scripts(which are same) on line 1-6 and on the remaining 2 lines I have configured another script (the 2 scripts are same).

I want to have all the 6 lines under one phone number. i.e, when a person calls the line 1234567, the first line answers, else if it is busy, the second line answers. But the phone number has to remain the same for all the 6 lines.

Most important, I want to have caller ID on all the lines. I have already configured it on voiceguide.I want it to be the same with the second scripts.

What should I do? Do I have to configure anything on voice guide or I have to contact the line provider? What kind of service should I ask them?

You should contact the telephone line provider and ask them to setup your lines in such a way that calls to one number arrive on the 6 lines you select.

Different carriers call this service/setup by different names, but it's a very common type of configuring multiple lines and everyone in the phone company will know what you mean when you just call them and explain what you need.
