Answering Machine Detection

Recommended Posts

I am having trouble with answering machine detection. I have tested on as many different answering machines as possible. VoiceGuide always detects a live answer, and then plays the wav file for the live answer. Detection is 'enabled' in vg.ini. I have played with the sensitivity. I have downloaded the various OCX files available on another thread with a similar situation. No luck.

We are running Beta 5 v19.

Any ideas?

I assume that you are using a Dialogic card? (Only Dialogic cards can detect answering machines)..

Which Dialogic cards are you using?

Could you please send us a copy of VoiceGuide's Debug Printout which captures the call , this will allow us to see what is going wrong. (When running the script click on VoiceGuide's View menu and select 'Event Trace Log' option - any log information will then appear in this window. You must open the trace window before making the call.)

It is the Dialogic card that does the answering machine detection - VoiceGuide just tells the Dialogic cards to enable its "PAMD" (Positive Answering Machine Detection) mode when making an outbound call - and the Dialogic card will inform VoiceGuide when it has detected an answering machine...

There really aren't any other settings - once the Dialogic card is told to detect answering machines then it just should, and we have found it to be very reliable... if this is not happening then I'd almost start suspecting that there is something wrong with the Dialogic card itself...

Which Dialogic System Release drivers version are you using?

Dialogic D240SC-2T1. 2 spans.

Dialogic System Release 5.1 - following your instructions. Windows 2000 professional. It places outbound calls and receives inbound calls fine.
