Call Transfer On Voice Modems

Recommended Posts

Has anyone managed a call transfer on voice modem?

I am using Creative Modem Blaster V92. The transfer actually procedes, but when it prompts to press 1 to accept a call or any other number to reject on the transfered client it drops the call even if you press 1.

Any idea on how to fix this?

Looks like your phone system requires a special signal to be sent by VoiceGuide complete an 'announced call transfer'.

(on most systems if VoiceGuide just hangs up then the call transfer will proceed - and this is what VoiceGuide does by default - but it looks like your system needs something else...)

What PBX are you using?

What does the original caller hear while VoiceGuide plays "Please press1 to accept the call..." to the recipient of the transfer? Do they hear any 'on-hold' music played by the PBX?

How do you do such transfers manually on this PBX? please give us a step -by-step description, and I can advise how to config VoiceGuide to match this...

Could you please send us a copy of VoiceGuide's Debug Printout which captures the problem, this will allow us to see what is going wrong.

(When running the script click on VoiceGuide's View menu and select 'Event Trace Log' option - any log information will then appear in this window. You must open the trace window before making the call.)

Looks like your phone system requires a special signal to be sent by VoiceGuide complete an 'announced call transfer'.

(on most systems if VoiceGuide just hangs up then the call transfer will proceed - and this is what VoiceGuide does by default - but it looks like your system needs something else...)

How do you do such transfers manually on this PBX? Please give us a step-by-step description, and I can advise how to config VoiceGuide to match this...

(see menu Edit->PBX Command Strings)

There is not need to set up the success path (unless you want VG to do something after the call has been accepted)

As mentioned above - on most PBXs if VG (or anybody for that matter) hangs up the call after the destination extension has picked up results in the transfer to be made - but it looks like you phone system is different...

Please give us a step-by-step description of how do you do such transfers manually on this PBX and I can advise how to configure VoiceGuide to match this...

(you can change the settings yourself using the Edit->PBX Command Strings menu)
