Apostrophe In Email Not Sending

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have added another email address to my sent emails module, but it is not working. I get a reply in my inbox which says that the email address could not be found. This email address has an apostrophe in the surname, for example, john.o'flannery@bigpond.net.au. Is there a problem with Voiceguide recognizing the apostrophe? The error message says that the message could not be sent to john.oflannery@bigpond.net.au

If you get a reply this means that VoiceGuide did send the email, and then the remote email system (at bigpond.net.au) replied that the email address is invalid.

Have you double-checked that the email address is valid?

Have you successfully sent emails to that address yourself?

Yes I have checked the email, and also sent to it successfully directly from Outlook.

It appears that voiceguide is removing the apostrophe, since the output of what was sent shows john.oflannery@bigpond.net.au and not john.o'flannery@bigpond.net.au So it is not even getting to Outlook in the correct format. I have double checked the module and it is definitely showing the email address with an apostrophe.

Could you please re-look into this for me.

Thanks

Which version of VoiceGuide are you using?

Could you please post a copy of VoiceGuide's Trace Logs which captures the problem, this will allow us to see what happened.

Enable logging by setting the log levels to 10 in VG.INI as per below:

[Log]

VoiceGuide=10

Then restart VG and make a test call which demonstrates the problem.

Trace files will be created in VG's \log\ subdirectory.

Please post the traces.

When posting traces/scripts please .ZIP them up and post them as attachments.
