VoiceGuide for Dialogic - No TTS

Recommended Posts

Dear VG,

I installed VG for Dialogic trail, TTL was working.

I registered VG - professional + dialer - 1 line.

TTL was D.O.A.

I upgraded and registered VG Enterprise. - Rebooted etc.

Still no speech from Text. - Dialer and wave files work fine.

This is a Dell PC, the SAPI was already installed when I received it.

Windows XP Pro

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Joel

How did you confirm this?

Have you tried installing SAPI again yourself?

Could you please post a copy of VoiceGuide's Trace Logs which captures the problem, this will allow us to see what is happening.

Enable logging by setting the log levels to 10 in VG.INI as per below:

[Log]

VoiceGuide=10

NumberLoader=0

VoicemailManager=0

EmailSender=0

TapiWrapOcx=10

SapiWrapOcx=10

Then restart VG and make a test call which demonstrates the problem.

Trace files will be created in VG's \log\ subdirectory.

Please post the traces and the VoiceGuide script used.

When posting traces/scripts please .ZIP them up and post them as attachments.

Trace shows that the TTS engine is creating an empty .WAV file - that is why VG is not playing anything, the .WAV file doe not contain anything.

Which TTS engine are you using?

If you want to experiment between unregistered and registered versions of VG then you can temporarily rename file userinfo.ini to something else and then restart VG. VG will then start in trial/unregistered mode.

Here is what the relevant lines of the trace should look like:

163307.384 conv wav2vox(C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\temp\tts_1_1.wav, C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\temp\tts_1_1.vox, )

163307.384 conv WAV -> ADPCM

163307.384 conv C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\temp\tts_1_1.wav (8000Hz, 16bit, len=10952) -> C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\temp\tts_1_1.vox (mono assumed)

163307.384 conv end iBytesRead=10952, iBytesWritten=2738

163307.384 conv out [C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\temp\tts_1_1.vox]

and in your system's case we just see that the tts_1_1.wav file len is 0 bytes.

Have a look at your \temp\tts_1_1.wav file - you should see that TTS did not put anything in that file.
