Is there an approx minute to GB equation for incoming message recording time for harddrives?

If your harddisk is your awnser phone storage.

An 8kHz 8bit PCM WAV file which VoiceGuide uses takes 8KBytes for each second of sound.

So the amount of space used for one hour of recording is 3600*8=28800KBytes=28.125MBytes

1024MB / 28.125MB/hr = 36.4 hours

so 1GB allows you to store about 36.4 hours of recording.

If you use VoiceGuide for Dialogic and have the sound files stored as VOX files which use up 4KBytes for each second of sound, then 1GB will allow you to store about 72.8 hours of recording.
