No Sound From Vg 6 With Dialogic

Recommended Posts

Hello

Just installed a D/4PCIU into Win XP Pro SP2. Did the Intel install from the SR6.0 disk supplied with all options selected.

There is no wave device installed into system devices.

We cannot find the oemsetup.inf file that the VG help file refers to.

Thanks

Daryl

Hello

Please see attached trace files.

VG answers the call, we can see the script run, yet we have no sound played on phone or pc.

Have installed VG for Dialogic.

Have used demo scripts and custom.

Scripts detect keys entered.

Thanks

Daryl

Please stop VG and exit the Telephone Number Loader, then delete file OutDial.mdb in VG's \data\ subdirectory, and delete all the files in the \log\ subdirectory.

Enable logging by setting the log levels to 10 in VG.INI as per below:

[Log]

VoiceGuide=10

NumberLoader=0

VoicemailManager=0

EmailSender=0

TapiWrapOcx=10

SapiWrapOcx=0

Then start VG and make a test call which demonstrates the problem.

Debug Trace files will be created in VG's \log\ subdirectory.

Please post the traces and the VoiceGuide script used.

When posting traces/scripts please .ZIP them up and post them as attachments.

Are the .WAV sound files used in 8kHz format, or are they still in 11kHz format?

11kHz sound files will not play in VG for Dialogic - you must use 8kHz versions.

Looks like the .VOX files which are converted from .WAV files before playing are 0 bytes in length, which is usually caused by the .WAV files being the wrong format.

Please delete all of the .VOX files in the Credit Card demo script's directory which you are using, then update the .WAVs with the 8kHz ones attached (or reinstall VG v5.x selecting "Standard" option as per readme.txt file which comes with VG for Dialogic).

If you are still seeing .VOX files created being 0 bytes long then please post a trace of an incoming call which is made after all .VOX files have been deleted - the process of .VOX files being created will then also be in the tw log file and we can see better what is causing these 0 byte .VOX files.

Thanks for the info.

Will make the changes and check settings tomorrow when I have access to the system again.

Hello

I unzipped the files you sent, and replaced the ones in the credit card file with the new ones and ran the programme again. It still hasn't worked.

Here's the log files from the latest call.

Thanks

You need to delete the .VOX files in the scripts directory (C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\Scripts\Credit Card Payment\*.vox). We can see in trace that PayGetId.vox is still there and it was created on "Mon Aug 14 17:10:27".

(It is 0 bytes long - that's why nothing is playing).

Delete all .VOX files and then call in again - and post trace of that new call if you still have problems.

Thank you!!

That works perfectly.

I do have another question though... your wav files are 8khz 16 bit. I thought the dialogic only accepted 8khz & 8 bit.

So 16 bit is okay???

Thanks for your help.

16 bit is fine.

The conversion function just ignores the least significant 8 bits.
