Automatic Relase/transfer

Recommended Posts

We would like to keep the line that VG system is connected to available at all times (as much as possible)... in scenarios such as these....

Say we have 4 lines --- main line (000)000-0001

Joe's line --- (000)000-0002

Tom's line --- (000)000-0003

Jen's line --- (000)000-0004

Story#1 --- We have our VG system pick up from the mainline. We ultimately want to keep the main line available at all times. Customer A calls the mainline. He is on listening to the options to take care of his business. Customer B calls the mainlian but since Customer A is on the line.

Question #1 --- Is there way to transfer the call to a different line so that the mainline will still be available for the next possible customer?

Story#2 --- We have out VG system pick up from the mainline. Customer A calls the mainline. There is a worker -- Joe -- who is available and will pick up the call before VG picks it up. Customer B calls the mainline. However, the line is busy since Joe is connected to Customer A.

Question#2 --- Is there a way to transfer the call to Joe's line - making the main line avaible for customer B and have VG pick up for customer B?

Is there a specific digital phone service which will take care of the multiple phone line transfers. Or a system which accepts analog signals into the computer and distribute it to other lines.? (Without customer requesting the transfer)

Lastly,

What are the difference between our VG and Voice Mail system that telecom typically sell?

Thank you very much in advance.

Get your telco to treat other lines as 'overflow' so calls go to other lines if the '1st choice' line is busy.

Also speak to them about setting up a few lines as 'rotary lines'.

You'll need a PBX to transfer calls. Alternatively see if the phone company allows you to transfer calls, but if you want proper control over call transfers then you're better off getting a PBX.

All voicemail systems are different. You'll need to compare the features.
