Disconnect Tone

Recommended Posts

Here is a question about how to analyze the disconnect tone via CoolEdit.

I could used analyze frequency tool is CoolEdit to animate the frequency. I notice that the frequency during the on time is at 422hz, and at the off time reached to its lower point at 183 Hz.

Here is my question:

Is the f1 dev, the frequency at on time minus frequency at off time, or

Average dev between frequency at on time and frequency at off time, or

Standard Dev between frequency at on time and frequency at off time? My f1dev bellow is standard Dev valued of 422 Hz and 183 Hz.

The 183 Hz frequency at off time would it be conceder f2 frequency? Or I should ignore it?

Please see the attached file the tone file I am trying to analyze it.

Bellow is what I could come up with for f1, f1dev, f2, f2dev, ontime, ontimedev, offtime, offtime dev.

F1 = 422

F1dev = 43

F2 = 183

F2dev= 0

Ontime = 50

Ondev = 0

Offtime = 50

Offtime = 0

Repeat = 2

Thanks for your help.

Around 420-425Hz seems to be the frequency of the ON tone.

use about 10% of that value for the deviation.

The start of tone and end of tone are transitional regions and you should not include them during your tone analysis.

On time and Off time are bout 500ms each. Use about 10-20% of the time value for the deviation.

So your settings should be:

F1 = 420

F1dev = 40

F2 = 0

F2dev= 0

Ontime = 50

Ondev = 10

Offtime = 50

Offtime = 10

Repeat = 2
