Vg For Dialogic Upgrade Procedure

Recommended Posts

What is the upgrade procedure for VG for Dialogic?

Do you have to install the updated TAPI version first followed by the Dialogic version?

Since there appears to be a number of people using the Dialogic version, it would be beneficial to have a complete install available of the Dialogic version (that does not require the TAPI version to be installed first) to avoid the cumbersome installation procedure.

I agree it would be much easier if there were a complete installation available for the Dialogic version.

But since there isn't yet, be sure to read the "ReadMe.txt" file that is attached with the upgrade.

Below is the contents of the "ReadMe.txt" file:

----------------------------------------

VoiceGuide for Dialogic

Installation Guide

----------------------------------------

To use "VoiceGuide for Dialogic" you will need to apply this patch

after installing VoiceGuide v5.x on your system.

System Requirements:

- Dialogic's SR5.1.1 plus the SR5.1.1SP1 (Service Pack) drivers, or the SR5.1.1FP1 (Feature Pack) drivers.

- Dialogic's Global Call 4.2

or

- Dialogic SR 6.0

Install VoiceGuide v5.x, selecting the "Standard TAPI" option.

To update VoiceGuide to the "for Dialogic" version you will then need to:

1. Place Config.xml and ConfigLine.xml in VG's \data\ subdirectory

2. Place ktTelControl.ocx, MsComm32.ocx and libexpat.dll in Windows' \System32\ subdirectory

3. Place VgMulti.exe, VgGsd.exe, VgDialer.exe and VgLv.exe in VG's main directory, overwriting previous files.

4. Open a DOS Command Window. (Start->Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt)

Change to Windows' \System32\ subdirectory using command:

  cd c:\Windows\System32

  and run the following commands:

  regsvr32 -u tapiwrap.ocx

  regsvr32 ktTelControl.ocx

  regsvr32 MsComm32.ocx

5. If you are using something other then a 4 port analog card then you may need to edit the Config.xml file

and specify which lines which you would like VoiceGuide to control.

See the sample Config.xml files for examples of how to set up the Config.xml file for different systems.

This step may be a bit tricky depending on which cards are installed in the system.

If you have any problems email support@voiceguide.com or post your question in the support forum.

6. Edit the Config.xml file to use a valid script if you have

VoiceGuide installed in directory other then C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\

Start VG and call into the system. You should now hear the Calling Card demo script.

All sound files used with this system should be in following format: "PCM 8kHz 8bit Mono".

----------------------------------------

General Notes:

----------------------------------------

Log directory can be changed by adding this entry to VG.INI file:

[Log]

LogDir=c:\YouChoiceOfDirectoryGoesHere

----------------------------------------

Notes for Robbed Bit installations:

----------------------------------------

Protocol should be: "pdk_us_mf_io" or "us_mf_io"

----------------------------------------

Notes for CAS installations:

----------------------------------------

Protocol should be: "xx_r2_io"

Where "xx" stands for the initials of the country in which you are running the system.

----------------------------------------

Notes for DMV board installations:

----------------------------------------

You will need to use SR6.0 PCI (supplied if DMV boards are supplied by Katalina)

Make sure to isntall the latest Service Update for SR6.0 PCI (SU58 is currently the latest one)
