ktruk Report post Posted 06/02/2005 03:46 PM Hi, I wonder if VG can be setup to provide a different service to callers, using different tel-numbers which arrive at the same line? For instance, If a caller calls xxxxx1 or xxxx2 and either call comes into a single dialogic line, can a Dialogic card detect different ringing "call-sign" patterns (either provided by PBX or CO line) or detect line "Alpha-Tagging" that some PBXs provide (Line ID tones/signals) that identify the source of the call? I would appreciate some outline summary of the possibilities... (some form of cadence detection for different ringing patterns or perhaps some form of in-band/out of band signalling)? I have played about using the $RV_Device/LineID variables to detect the line number in a multi-line script (so I don't have to configure each line separately), which works to ID the actual line, and I have looked at ISDN MSN/DDI stuff, but haven't been able to get my head round it (!!) Any thoughts appreciated - thanks - Tim. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 06/03/2005 08:03 AM Best way is to get a T1/E1 ISDN line. The DDI info on ISDN calls tells you what number is called, and you use $RV_DNIS to get that value. If using analog lines there are a number of ways this info can be provided - via Inband Signaling, or a CTI link - it all depends on your PBX. Usually best to have T1/E1 ISDN line going straight into the box and a few analog links for the PBX in case you want to transfer calls to extensions hanging off the PBX. Share this post Link to post
