Called Phone Number Question

Hello,

I'm talking over the support of a voice guide system from someone and I've been asked to detect which of two phone numbers were dialed inside our main calling script. CallerID and callerid name works fine. I tried to get at the $RV[DNIS] variable but that didn't work so I came to the conclusion that inbound signling is not passing the information.

 

The strange thing is that I've noticed that when the callerIDName some times shows the phonenumber they dialed. Why would this be happening?In that case the callerID number is the number of the person calling , its just the callerid name is the phone number dialed?

 

Any ideas as to why this is happening? If I can get the phone number sometimes in the calleridname why can't I get it all the time.

Could you please post a copy of VoiceGuide's Debug Printout which captures the problem, this will allow us to see what is going on.

 

When running the script click on VoiceGuide's View menu and select 'Event Trace Log' option - any log information will then appear in this window. You must open the trace window before making the call.

You can enable the automatic saving of the logs to files in \log\ directory as well.

...from my experience, this is caused due to Vonage Broadband telephone service. I have Vonage and all of my telephone numbers say the phone number in place of the name. And sometimes, when callers call right back (like twice in a row due to no answer at the first ring through, the callers name will not be there. It will just say "OUT OF AREA" instead of the name (on my caller id).
