D/4pci Card Not Working

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to upgrade our voicemail system to a newer version and one of the stipulations is that a suitably spec'd PC has both WindowsXP Pro and SP2.

We are then to take the old dialogic D/4PCI x2 cards out of the old system (WinNT4 SP6) and install in the new WindowsXP Pro machine.

After installing the cards in the new machine neither of them work. They are not picked-up by "Found New Hardware" and I have had to manually add the cards via the configuration software (they are not picked by the auto-detect feature either).

Also, once the cards are added the services won't start and I get various errors in Event Viewer, which I have attached to this support problem.

Can anyone help. I work in IT but I am not a telephone specialist. Normally our telephone company Aastra would handle this but my company brought the PC to save some money and it is down to us to at least get the cards working before the telephone company will come in and complete the upgrade.

I've had this happen myself when Dialogic cards have been in a PC a long time, and simply cleaning the edge connectors on the PCB has been enough to get them detected.

I think your model Dialogic card has a rotary switch, and if you put two or more in one PC set them to different numbers starting at 1. The little red switch simply controls if busy or ring is heard while the service starts up.

If the Dialogic service cannot be started using the DCM (Dialogic's Configuration Manager" it's best to contact your local Dialogic reseller from where the cards were purchased.

Hi Again, ok I have cleaned the connectors on the boards and changed the PCI slots they were in but nothing.

I have also put the boards back in the old NT4 machine and they work fine and are picked up no problem by the CFM config software.

Are there any known issues with XP or SP2 that might be causing the problems??

Could it be something to do with the PC. Are there any known issues with serial ATA over IDE for instance???

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

James.

We're not familiar with these Dialogic errors.

As this is a strictly Dialogic problem (and not a VoiceGuide related one) it's best to contact your local Dialogic reseller from where the cards were purchased.

Are you using an Intel CPU in the new machine?

Not that we're aware of. We have systems running under XP with no problems.

Are you using SR5.1.1 SP1?

Not thtat we're aware of. Our test systems use Serial ATA.

Hi, yes the PC does have an Intel processor and we are using SR5.1.1 SP1 as well.

I'll speak with the local supplier of the dialogic boards as well.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

James.
