Can't Hear Any Sound.

Dear sir or Madam,

 

I had connectd a extenal voice modem to my PC installing VoiceGuide.

VoiceGuide can work norming in a waiting call status. When I place a call to it, voiceGuide can dectect the call and the status change to 'Playing D:\..\mywavefile'. But I can not hear any sound in my phoneset. Is my sounds file format not correct? I have saved my sounds file as windows PCM 8kHZ, 16 bit, Mono format. And the sound file can be plaied normally in media player. Could you tell me what is the problem? Thanks

Sounds like the cards Wave drivers were not correctly installed - can you

try removing all the wave drives on your system (including any sound card drivers) and then re-installing the wave drivers for your telephony device first. Try calling in after doing this, and if the sound can be heard over the phone you can then try to re-install your sound card drivers.

 

To remove other wave drivers got to Control Panel, double clock on System, select the Device Manager tab and go to Sound/Video/Game Controllers entry - then delete all other wave drivers.

 

You may have to disable the sound card altogether as well to stop Windows from automatically loading it's drivers - to do this just select "Disable" and then select "Uninstall" from the Device Manager.

Could you help me to analyse it and tell the potential cause?

Looks lie VoiceGuide cannot read in your test.wav file.

 

Does the system play sound files OK when you use the sample scripts provided with VoiceGuide? eg the credit card payment application?

Do the samples scripts (eg: the Calling card payment script) work OK when they are selected as the script to use for answered calls?

Looking at the trace closer we can see that the wave drivers for your device are actually returning an error whenever we even try to open them:

waveOutOpen(0x170214, 0x0, 0x1701e0, 0x3032a, 0x1701b8, 0x10000) => 7 (MMSYSERR_NOMEM)

Best to probably just try using a different modem or better yet just get a Dialogic card.
