Max voicemail recording length

Recommended Posts

When caller leaves message in mailbox, it cuts off after 30 seconds. How do I change the length of time the mailbox will allow the caller to talk?

In the Voicemail Manager click on the "Global" tab.

You will now be able to set the maximum and minimum message lengths. After changing the value click on the "Reset all" button and the new setting will be saved.

When you exit the voicemail manager VoiceGuide will load the new settings.

To set different max/min settings for individual mailboxes you can just edit the VmBoxList.xml file directly (VmBoxList.xml is in VG's \data\ directory)

The version I am using 4.9.0

Sorry, I cannot find a tab labeled "Global." The tabs are as follows: Mailboxes, Add/Modify, Config/Stats, Email, and FTP/Cmd.

I tried to set the record time by editing VmBoxList.xml, but I can't find any reference to set the record length. For example, here is Mailbox 0001:

<?xml version="1.0" ?>

- <VoicemailBoxes>

- <VoicemailBox Id="0001">

<Pin>1111</Pin>

<Groups />

<Description>demo mailbox 1</Description>

<EmailForward />

<PhoneForward />

<PagerNumber />

<PagerMessage />

<OnReceive />

<FtpUpload>0</FtpUpload>

<DeleteAfterForward>0</DeleteAfterForward>

</VoicemailBox>

Please help.

in v4.9 the max record length was settable in VG.INI file - please look through this file and find appropriate setting and change it and then restart VG.

Thanks, that fixed the problem.

Now please tell me what the "Maximum message length" field is for (the default is 300). This is the field that shows when the Config/Stats tab is selected.

I imagine his field was to set the entry in VG.INI file that you just changed manually...
