Dialogic Settings For Australia And Call Transfers

I have purchased a D4 JCT dialogic card new from the US and running VG 5.7001. in Australia. I am unable to blind transfer or dial and conference transfer it just hangs up the call when I do either. Its detecting live callers vs answering machine ok (not perfectly)

 

I have a feeling its probably in the dialogic settings but have no idea where to start or if there are any particular settings I should change to make it work better in Australia

 

Also I know you will probably ask me to post the call logs, do I just open the vgl file in notepad and copy/paste the info. It just doesnt look like the logs that other people have posted

FYI,

 

Its s simple script call in and press 2 to be transferred.

To get VoiceGuide's Debug Printout:

 

When running the script click on VoiceGuide's View menu and select 'Event Trace Log' option - any log information will then appear in this window. You must open the trace window before making the call.

 

Also I'd recommend you use v5.2.1 instead of a v5.1.x - you can just download it from our WWW - but please read this first: http://voiceguide.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1353

Please install v5.2.1 and try again.

 

You do continue to receive new releases after paying for license - all minor release upgrades which do not have any *major* new features in them are free.

 

eg: buyers of v5.0 which was released in July'03 can still use their registration code for current version v5.2.1

Please post the script which you are using.

 

Are you by any chance specifying a non-existing "on hold music" file to play which connection is made, or a non-existing "line selection" file?

 

Error looks as if VG cannot find one of those files...

Script is posted.. originally didnt specify a file to play when the transfer takes place. But just added a file to play to see if that fixed it.. It didnt.

Thanks for that. The dial and conference option works. (although I quickly experimented with the 3 way blind conference, so I wouldnt have to tie up 2 phone lines, but it wouldnt work) details pasted below in LOG 1. I tried adding a few commas in the PBX command transfer settings to give it time to call out which didnt work either(Just a reminder Im running 4 telstra analogue lines in Australia). Ive also got another problem detailed below LOG 1 relating to a particular line.

I've also hit another bug though that means when I call in on a certain line all you hear is a tone (similar to a fax machine tone) The log for the first call is here. I then made a second call on a different line that worked fine which is pasted below it

When you tried the "Announced Conference" option did the destination phone start ringing?

 

Both of the other traces look the same - so I'm not too sure why you are hearing the tone on one line and not on the other...

 

Can you try just restarting your PC to make sure that the Dialogic card gets fully restarted after the new VG update and try calling in again once on each line and tell us which lines works and which ones do not...

The restart fixed the tone problem and no the other phone doesnt ring when you do an announced transfer you can hear it dialling but it doesnt ring... your suggestions are appreciated

If the other phone does not ring then looks like your hookflash length setting is not correct.

 

You can change hookflash length in Dialogic TSP, see:

If that does not work please try the following:

 

Select “Australia/NZ” as the Country in Dialogic DCM, then go to Dialogic’s DATA subdirectory (usually in C:\Program Files\Dialogic\DATA) and edit the file an_41j.prm using Wordpad. You will need to change the line:

 

# PARAM 52:(DECIMAL WORD) 50 # Hook Flash/earth recall duration

 

to:

 

PARAM 52:(DECIMAL WORD) 10 # Hook Flash/earth recall duration

 

Ie: remove the # at the beginning and change 50 to 10 – parameter is in 10ms units, so a setting of 10 will indicate 100ms.

 

Again after restarting Dialogic service please try transfer again.

 

Please do a trace with just a "!" being used instead of "!,,," - the trace will then show how long is the hookflash that Dialogic generates.

 

 

 

Note:

an_41j.prm is the file used for D41JCT cards if Australia/NZ is selected for the country. If a different card is used or a different country is selected then the /prm file used will change as well.

You can also specify the .prm directly in DCM using the ParameterFile option.

Didnt quite work. It transferred the call, put Telstra's on hold music on, then my destination phone rang, received a message to hit 1 to accept the transferred call. Transfer then wouldnt proceed it just put both phones on hold but didnt connect them...

 

Then the weird thing was I called in again on a different line and it wouldnt even dial or transfer the call. The person dialling in ended up hearing the voice saying "hit 1 to accept this transferred call"

 

1st log is the semi successfull call, 2nd Log is the call that totally failed, 3rd log is an attempt at a blind transfer (which had a similar result as the first call, ie dialled the number but wouldnt connect the two calls together.)

Didnt quite work. It transferred the call, put Telstra's on hold music on, then my destination phone rang, received a message to hit 1 to accept the transferred call. Transfer then wouldnt proceed it just put both phones on hold but didnt connect them...

In VoiceGuide's "PBX Command Strings" configuration window please try changing the "Complete announced conference call" from "!3" to "!,3"

Then the weird thing was I called in again on a different line and it wouldnt even dial or transfer the call. The person dialling in ended up hearing the voice saying "hit 1 to accept this transferred call"

When that happens that means that the hookflash is too short and was not detected by the phone company's switch. If that happens the original caller will hear VoiceGuide dialing then playing the message etc.

Try making your hookflash a bit longer and see if this fixes it.

3rd log is an attempt at a blind transfer

Telstra does not support blind transfers on it's lines.

Thanks,Got it working on 3 of the 4 phone lines (had to add 2 commas) rang telstra and they did something to make the 4th line work, had to do with the number being our prime number as the lines are in rotation... just in case anyone else hits the same problem.

 

It seems it wont recognise when either call has ended though. The voice guide line stays open regardless of whether one or both of the parties hangs up....
