Slow Picking Up Call And Problem Receiving Call

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm using VG 5.1.7 on win2000 server with D/4 PCI card.

I'm also using the Fire Daemon to make the VG run as service.

I've 2 problem.

1. Everything work fine except that the call only gets pick up only after 3-4 rings.

I've set the line to pick up at 0 rings and dont pop up the caller info. What else can be done?

2. Whenever I stop the VG service in Fire Daemon, I ran the VG manually.

(because I want to trigger the trace for troubleshooting)

However, all the call got pick up and then hang up. I didnt even change the script or wav files. There were working if VG was running as service!

The wav were as 11K with 8bit Mono. Any idea? Below are the trace.

Keith

After you have stopped the service it looks like there were some problems with the Wave drivers getting reset. Looks like on this machine you should restart Windows if you want to rung VG normally after running it as a service.

How have you configured the card in the DCM (Dialogic Configuration Manager)? In particular which Country have you selected and which ParameterFile (.prm file), if any?

I have the same symptoms and the same error log on this trial machine that I am using. I also am using a Dialogic 4 port card and Windows 2000. I think my problem is that the wave installation instructions do not work for a Windows 2000 machine.

I am not running VG as a service though. And I'm running United States as the country code and am not running a parameter file.

Dialogic Wave drivers work OK on Win2000 - and the VoiceGuide Help file has a specific section on installing Wave drivers on Win2000...

I quote the relevant section direct from Help file below:

Installing Dialogic Wave driver - Windows 2000 :

Go to the Start Menu->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Hardware to start the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard

Click Next.

Select Add/Troubleshoot a Device and click Next.

Windows will attempt to find any new plug and play devices. It should find none. Select "Add a new device" and click Next.

Select “No, I want to select the hardware from a list” and click Next

Select “Sound, video and game controllers” and click Next

Click “Have Disk” and browse to the "Program Files\Dialogic\LIB" directory.

Select the “oemsetup” file and click open. Then click OK on the next screen.

Select the “Dialogic WAVE driver 1.X” and click Next.

Click Next. You will receive a warning that a digital signature is not found. Click Yes to continue the installation.

If asked for path to "dlgwave.dll" it should be found in Windows' "System32" directory, else it is also available in the "Program Files\Dialogic\LIB" directory.

Restart the computer for the changes to take affect

The “Dialogic WAVE driver 1.X” should now be seen in the Device Manager (Control Panel -> System -> Hardware Tab -> Device Manager).

Thanks, will try it out. Cant down the thing now.

Yes. I'm living in Singapore and country was set as Singapore.

For the .prm , I hope I'm correct as there is no .prm file under the misc tab as shown in the image attached. Any else to fine tune?

I've no complain for D/4 card that I have but I do find the installation of Dialogic pretty strict and Intel should improve it. I'm using the 5.1 drivers.

The help file did help me though. I got all the crucial stuff for this one.

Did the Dialogic card come with any Singaport-specific installation notes which would indicate what parameter file you ought to be specifying? Can you speak with the people from whom you purchased the card?

call only gets pick up only after 3-4 rings.

Can you attach a telephone handset 'in parallel' with the phone lines plugged into the Dialogic card and see how many times the telephone handset rings before the call is answered by VG? On some phone networks the caller will hear ringing before the destination extension has started ringing - attaching a phone 'in parallel' will let you better see how many rings the Dialogic card actually sees.

Also please read answer to:

http://voiceguide.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1104

Also could you please post a copy of VoiceGuide's Debug Printout which captures the incoming call.

(When running the script click on VoiceGuide's View menu and select 'Event Trace Log' option - any log information will then appear in this window. You must open the trace window before making the call.
