jiaseby Report post Posted 05/01/2026 04:09 PM I've had a system running for awhile. I was making a change to the Config.xml file and all of a sudden it is like it went back to the default program file. In other words it is not running the .vgs file in my config.xml file. It is running a test program that was included. That file is the credit card payment.vgs. Is there a way that I can troubleshoot why this is now happening. I even went back to my old Config.xml that I had backed up. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 05/01/2026 10:48 PM You need to ensure that you are viewing and saving the config files in correct directory. If you are using Remote Desktop or or some other remote access software or logged in as a used with no Admin rights then you may not be editing the correct file, but a file for that user's 'Environment' only. Best edit the VoiceGuide Service config files when sitting in front of the computer and logged in as an Administrator. Share this post Link to post
jiaseby Report post Posted 05/02/2026 04:25 PM The file is in the \conf\config.xml. I've been editing it there for awhile and now it isn't updating. Is there a place I can see where it is pulling that from? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 05/03/2026 01:39 AM There is only one place the software reads the Config.xml from. From the \conf subdirectory of where the VoiceGuide is installed. Are you physically at the computer and logged in as Administrator? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 05/03/2026 04:38 AM Also: are you using Notepad++ to edit the file? We recommend using Notepad++ as it will automatically detect if you do not have permission to save the file and will offer to restart itself in "Administrator Mode" to save the file.
