Set Microsoft, Vw Voice

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to test a particular tts voice without changing the default tts. So far, ATT voices work with xml tags inside script designer modules, but not "VW Kate" and "Microsoft Mary".

<voice required="name=Kate"><rate absspeed="-1">$RV[someVar],,,</rate></voice>

Am I missing a configuration of some kind?

More detail:

- VG version - 6.0.3003

- System - Windows XP Pro (32-bit)

The TTS input - complete with all the XML tags etc. is passed to the default TTS engine specified in VG.INI.

The AT&T TTS engines are able to switch between other AT&T TTS engines, but don't think that they can start up TTS engines from other manufacturers and pass the request onto them.

If you must use TTS engines from different manufacturers on one system then please contact sales@voiceguide.com with your requirements.

Has anybody been able to use At&T natural voices on a windows 7,8,10 64bit machine with Voice guide 7.x ?

If you have confirmed that the AT&T Natural Voices (or any other SAPI TTS) installation is working then that SAPI TTS install will work with VoiceGuide.

(this verification can be done using SAPI toolkit's test application).

Have you tried installing AT&T Natural Voices and tried using it?

We have installed Ivona 64bit voices and also AT&T Natural Voices, These are working with the Windows control panel and TextAloud apps.

Voiceguide still uses Microsoft Anna

How to change Voiceguide to use a different voice?

We did set the default voice in the text-to-speech control panel in Windows to be one of the Ivona voices.

We have it working now by entering the proper description in the vg.ini file:

TTSEngine=IVONA 2 Salli OEM - US English female voice [22kHz]

Thanks for your initial response.
