Transfer Call Dial Sequence

Recommended Posts

How would one use the call transfer module to transfer to the following sequence, IE Are pauses allowed?

123-4567,,999-555-1212

Basically what is required is to dial a cellular roam number eg. 123-4567, pause then dial a 10 digit cellular number.

I tried with ","'s but it only dialed up to the ,'s

I guess one could use the play module on the " sucsess path" of the transfer module to play these additional digits, but if that sucess path is not needed, IE If I don;t want the script to do anything until the call ends, then I would leave this empty. This would mean that I cannot use the Sucsess path to go to a play module to play those additional digits.

Perhaps Katalina could allow the use of a pause variable in the transfer much like they did in the outbound number loader. This would be useful if you required to dial 9 if you had the system on a PBX.

I only tested this on a voice modem, I have not yet recieved my Dialogic card, Is this a problem with voice modems and not dialogic? or is it a problem with both?

Thanks!

Are you using v4.8.47 of VoiceGuide? Some updates were made in that version to call transfers and conferencing and I'd recommend upgradng to that version.

You are able to specify "," in the dial string if a Dialogic card is used, but if a modem is used the modem's drivers will only play up to the "," as you have observed.

Once you install your Dialoigc card you should find this working OK.

Changing the software to allow for pauses in the call transfer strings when Voice modems are used will be implemented in v4.9 of VoiceGuide.

Workaround for Modem users:

A workaround for now would be to use a Play module to send the "9995551212" number.

Play modules can be used to send hookflash signals (Sound file = "!") or DTMF tones (Sound file = dtmf string) . This allows sending any PBX signal from a sequence of Play modules - the pauses required between different sections of hookflashes/tones can be set by Timout paths between successive Play modules.
